Oran Rankin is a career bread baker who finds magic in the quiet early morning hours, working with natural sourdough culture to transform flour and water into nourishing bread. He taps into the deep traditions of the craft, from fermentation through scoring and baking loaves on stone oven decks. Together with his wife Sara, Oran strives to make Button Bakery an important part of Evanston.
